Rooftop solar price in Noida, 1 to 10 kW

For most Noida homes, 3 kW is the starting point: enough for roughly two to four air conditioners and about about 338 units a month of generation a month.

The published price is ₹1,99,000 to ₹2,10,000. After the central and Uttar Pradesh subsidy, the estimated amount is ₹91,000 to ₹1,02,000. On Noida’s tariff, that investment typically pays back in three to five years.

The price table for Noida

The published price includes panels, inverter, mounting structure, net metering, installation and warranty. The central subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW plus ₹18,000 for the third, capped at ₹78,000 for any system of 3 kW or more. Uttar Pradesh adds ₹15,000 per kW, capped at ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy, under the Saurya Uttar Pradesh Yojana in the state's 2022 solar policy.

A 10 kW system is quoted per site because structure, cabling and the inverter choice vary more than on a 3 kW roof; the subsidy on it is the same ₹78,000 plus ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy.

Why 3 kW is the size most Noida homes choose

The subsidy formula pays 60% of the benchmark cost for the first 2 kW and 40% for the third, then nothing. On a 3 kW system the ₹1,08,000 combined subsidy covers roughly half the published price. On 5 kW the subsidy is the same rupee amount against a higher price, so the net cost per kW rises. The published sizing guide is 0–150 units a month: 1–2 kW · 150–300 units: 2–3 kW · above 300 units: above 3 kW. A quick check: add up twelve months of bills and divide by twelve; summer alone will oversize the system.

Net metering in Noida: PVVNL, not NPCL

Noida city's electricity distributor is PVVNL (Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, a UPPCL company). Greater Noida and Greater Noida West are served by NPCL (Noida Power Company Limited). Check the name at the top of your bill before starting the application.

Under the UPERC rooftop solar regulations, under the UPERC rooftop solar regulations of 2019, residential users may choose net or gross metering, and the DISCOM allows capacity within transformer limits. The third amendment of those regulations set a compensation rate for injected surplus of the weighted-average large-solar tariff plus 25% (Third Amendment, in force from July 2025).

What the electricity bill does after solar

Uttar Pradesh urban domestic tariffs for FY 2026-27 are ₹5.50 (0–150 units), ₹6.00 (151–300), ₹6.50 (301–500) and ₹7.00 (above 500) per unit, plus a fixed charge of ₹110 per kW per month.

A home using 400 units a month sits in the third slab; a 3 kW system generating about 338 units a month removes most of that consumption, and the bill falls to the fixed charge plus whatever the system did not cover. The fixed charge does not go away, which is why "zero bill" claims are not honest; the honest claim is that the energy charge largely disappears.

Paying for it: cash, loan or EMI

The PM Surya Ghar concessional loan is collateral-free, from nationalised banks, at repo rate plus 0.5 percentage points, which was 5.75% on 28 July 2026, over 10 years. On the mid-point of the 3 kW net price that is an EMI close to the monthly saving, which is the point of the scheme. Equipment and compliance

Subsidised systems must use both the modules and the cells must be made in India, and since 1 June 2026 the cells must appear on the ALMM List-II. GST on a rooftop solar plant is about 8.9%: 5% on the panels and inverter (70% of the contract value) and 18% on the rest of the material and installation (30%).
