Why do prices vary by city if the system is the same?

The system price is the same; the subsidy is not. Uttar Pradesh adds ₹15,000 per kW capped at ₹30,000, Delhi adds ₹26,000 per kW capped at ₹78,000 plus a per-unit incentive, and the electricity board decides the net-metering process and fees.

GST is shown as a separate line on your written quote. Since 22 September 2025 it is about 8.9% on a complete rooftop plant: 5% on the panels and inverter, which count as 70% of the contract value, and 18% on the remaining 30% for other material and installation.

Solar prices and savings in Delhi NCR

For many homes, a 3 kW rooftop system is the point where savings and subsidy work hardest together. Verde Solaire's published price is ₹1,99,000 to ₹2,10,000 before subsidy; the estimated net cost is ₹91,000 to ₹1,02,000 in Uttar Pradesh and ₹43,000 to ₹54,000 in Delhi. Delhi also offers a generation incentive of ₹3 per unit for five years.

Choose a system size that matches your bill

The central subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third, capped at ₹78,000. That is why 3 kW is a popular choice, while 5 kW often suits homes with higher usage. Start with your twelve-month average bill, not just your peak summer bill.

What a quality solar quote should make clear

The published ranges include panels, inverter, the mounting structure, net metering, installation and warranty. When you compare quotes, check that each one states:

The panel make, model and wattage, and whether the cells are on the ALMM List-II, which has been mandatory for subsidised systems since 1 June 2026.
The inverter make, model and rating, and its warranty in years.
The structure: material, height above the roof, and the wind rating.
Cabling, earthing and the AC and DC distribution boxes, which some quotes leave out and bill later.
The net-metering application and inspection, including who pays the meter charges. In Delhi there is no application fee for domestic systems up to 10 kW.

What is not included: civil work, load enhancement, a battery.
